Saturday May3,2013
I took daddy to Dollar General today. We also went to their house for awhile. He was on the phone. There are people who have cell phones so he had to get their numbers at the house. Mother is doing well. Sandra has really been good and things are going well. I hope they stay that way. I'm actually tired of dealing with their conflicts. I finished up with classes last night. Hell on the computer because of connections. I had a survey for Prof. Bost from the technology dept.. I noticed that they did not ask if you had had problems with their connection. I suppose they don't want to know. AT&T came to my house like the third week of school and said my problem was them. I was having problems sending that in. I don't know if she got it or not. I got tired of messing with it. Well, I have posted another day of my life.

On the Insert tab, the galleries
include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your
document. You can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers,
lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks (Fudd, 2009). When you
create pictures, charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current
document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the
document text by choosing a look for the selected text from the Quick Styles
gallery on the Home tab. Bunny stated “you can also format text directly by
using the other controls on the Home tab.” (2009, P.14-15)
Most controls offer a choice of
using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify
directly. To change the overall look of your document, choose new Theme
elements on the Page Layout tab. To change the looks available in the Quick
Style gallery, use the Change Current Quick Style Set command (Bunny &
Fudd, 2009). Both the Themes gallery and the Quick Styles gallery provide reset
commands so that you can always restore the look of your document to the
original contained in your current template. On the Insert tab, the galleries
include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your
document.
However, Coyote, W.E., (2009) found
that you can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists,
cover pages, and other document building blocks. When you create pictures,
charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You
can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text by

using a format that you specify directly.

Use of Key Words
Use of Key Words
With today’s online search engines being able to find virtually any
word or string of words, key words become the very essence of finding the odd,
the unique and the unknown about a given topic, especially when trying to
conduct an effective literature search.
Key words are the search terms you enter into your search engine. Once you have determined the topic you wish
to search for, think about the key words that will retrieve the best
information for research, document or project topic.
Online search engines are increasingly tying key words to advertising,
possibly the key words you are interested in using, so choosing key words
carefully will help filter unwanted search responses from the comprehensive
data you are looking for.
Lesson 7-PowerPoint tips..........Friday, 26 April 2013, 10:21 PM
Hello,
I have attended several meetings with PowerPoint presentations, however, I have yet to attend a good one. They were long, drawn out, and boring. Speakers read every word. These are four tips that I consider most valuable.
I have attended several meetings with PowerPoint presentations, however, I have yet to attend a good one. They were long, drawn out, and boring. Speakers read every word. These are four tips that I consider most valuable.
1.
Keep it simple. I believe in being
direct and to the point. A PowerPoint that is filled with additional
information that is not needed distracts from the presentation.
2. Don't
parrot PowerPoint. I can read as well as my peers. The only thing I can think
of is the presentation would be shorter if the speaker did not read every word
aloud.
3. Keep
slides to a minimum. Too many slides and too many clicks diminish the main
idea.
4. Edit
ruthlessly before presenting. Review the PowerPoint. Make sure it is clear and
simple; delete any information that would cause distraction.
This is the first PowerPoint I have ever
done. I enjoyed doing it. I was proud of the way it looked and it gives
me confidence that I can do them in the future.
Preparation for essay exams..........Wednesday, 10 April 2013, 09:46 PM
Hello,
It has been several years since my last essay exam. These are some of the techniques that I have used in the past. When preparing for an essay exam I thoroughly read the material, paying extra attention and thinking of possible questions as I read. I would go back and make notes regarding key issues and associated information. When the professor stressed certain areas, I concentrated on those. I also asked which areas required more consideration. I was always given positive advice.
What I have to be careful with is sticking to the questions asked and paying attention to the time. I sometimes tend to get overly inspired and tend to elaborate more than I should. I have a tendency to do that when I talk also. I have got to stay on task and watch the time.
I did have an essay exam. I had gone over this lesson prior to that
test and I kept these techniques in mind.
I made an “A”. Thank you for
including this lesson.
